Toby Olson, author
Toby Olson has published nine novels, the most recent of which, The Bitter Half, appeared in Fiction Collective 2 in 2006. His numerous books of poetry include Human Nature (New Directions 2000). His novel Seaview won the PEN/Faulkner award for the most distinguished work of American fiction in 1983, and he is the recipient of NEA,
Guggenheim, and Rockefeller Foundation fellowships. Olson was a Professor of English at Temple University from 1975 to 1999 and now divides his time between Philadelphia and Cape Cod, where he has been a summer resident since 1970.
